The brand is the cherry on top of a very robust coffee selection process. Pre-launch, we spent six months researching roasting partners (and ditching our initial choice) before choosing our current roaster. Each individual roast takes us 3-4 months to bring to market. And for our organic and fair-trade roasts, we spend an extra 3-4 months in certification. It’s a huge commitment and cost for us, but totally worth it.

In short, the coffee is the core of our business. We hate drinking bad coffee, and so we only sell great coffee.  

We work with one of the top roasters in the US to source premium coffee beans. Our single origin roasts come from Uganda and Colombia, and our blends come from Colombia, a selection of South American countries, and Indonesia.  

We only source the highest quality gourmet beans, and many of them are organic and / or fair trade. Look out for the USDA organic and fair trade certification on our packaging. 

Our roasts are made up only of Arabica beans, with the exception of our high caffeine ‘Morning Glory’ roast, which is a 70% Arabica, 30% Robusta blend. Arabica beans are prized for their richness of flavor and fruity tones and make the tastiest coffees. Robusta beans pack more of a punch when it comes to caffeine, so they’re strong but can taste a little bitter if you don’t blend them in just right. 

We ship coffee orders before the end of the next business day, so if you order Monday – Thursday, we’ll ship to you by the end of the next day. Order Friday – Sunday and we’ll ship to you on Monday. Most orders take around 5 business day to arrive after they’re shipped. 

Most of our gear ships within 2 business days of ordering, and then takes around 5 business days to arrive at your door. So if our math is correct, that’s (checks fingers) um, 7 business days.

Unfortunately, some email systems see the words ‘chafed’ and ‘cranky’ in the same sentence, decide the goods on offer are definitely rated R, and bump us into spam. We send out an order confirmation and a shipping confirmation with tracking details on every order, so please check your spam folder for these emails. If you don’t see anything there, email support@chafedandcranky.com and we’ll give you all the info you need.

We try and get orders out the door within one business day, and unfortunately once your order has shipped, we can’t get it back. If you place an order and have an immediate case of buyer’s remorse, send an email to support@chafedandcranky.com, and we’ll do everything we can to cancel it before it ships. If we are able to cancel it, we’ll refund you in full.

Of course! Go to ‘My Account’ and log in. On the Subscriptions tab, you have the option to cancel your subscription at any time. Please note that if an order linked to your subscription is already in the process of shipping, then cancelling your subscription will not cancel the order that is in process, and you will still be charged. We recommend cancelling your subscription at least a week before the regular shipping date to ensure the next scheduled shipment isn’t already on its way to you.

For sure. Log in to your account, and head over to the Account Details tab. You’ll see options there to unsubscribe from our newsletter.

If you’re buying two or more bags of coffee, enter ‘cranky’ at checkout to get $2 off each bag of coffee in your cart. The discount will be automatically applied to each bag of coffee, across any of the roasts. Mix and match roasts as much as you like.
